IEH founded as L. Offerman Tool and Die, 1941, by Louis Offerman and his two sons, Bernard and Seymour.

1941-1945
IEH produces tools and dies in support of the war effort during WWII.

Post-WWII
IEH begins producing transistor sockets for consumer electronics

1950s-1960s
IEH goes public, begins producing cathode ray tube (CRT) sockets for the television industry. Becomes the largest CRT manufacturer in the world, shipping 70M annually.

1960s-1970s
IEH begins manufacturing hyperboloid contacts, obtains gov’t approval to produce Mil-DTL-55302 connectors, and begins transitioning from CRT sockets to Mil-Spec PCB connectors for defense and aerospace

1980s-1990s
IEH business in Mil-DTL-55302 “takes off”, due to customer demand for lower insertion forces.

1990s
IEH moves from Manhattan to Brooklyn, and expands our product lines.
